Eekul species ref OUTDATED [READ DESCRIPTION] by Dezilon Eekul species ref OUTDATED [READ DESCRIPTION] by Dezilon
Yes. Be a good boy/girl and read the description, like the title says.

Ok first off: This is not an open specie. I've given several people permission to make one, but they never did it and honestly that's both disappointing and insulting.

You may, however, draw my or other people's Eekul characters all you want, there's no need to ask for permission. I'd like to know if you do it though.

Onto the most important note:
This ref is very outdated, both art and info-wise. Most of the basic info about the Eekul society is still the same, but much has changed. When this specie was created, I mostly went for super cool and "unique" looking critters and tossed tons of limbs and eyes on them. They still have tons of limbs and eyes, but there's much, much more to them. I have an entire planet to go with them, a beautiful but alien world, with plenty of other intelligent races as well as dangerous monsters.

You hardly know 5% of all there is to know about this world, and I'm not planning to change that. I usually like to keep my worlds to myself and my close friends.

I suppose you CAN ask for permission to create an Eekul character, but it's highly unlikely I will grant it unless you're a friend or somebody I trust. Keep in mind: Eekuls are not about cool looks and eyes and limbs. To create one, you would need to know so much more.

If you already have an Eekul, you're allowed to keep it, of course.

:megaphone: TL;DR VERSION This specie is not open and the ref is horribly outdated.

Oh this species looks pretty nice but I'm afraid the looks of them are what you keep the most important.

I wonder what purpose those extra limbs play. They're too small to reach ground, they seem to be too weak to be of much help while climbing and they just, well, hang there. I'd like to know how they evolved.

They seem to have a very snake-like jaw but I don't really get the "no teeth" point <:U Even snakes have a set of small teeth to prevent the food from sliding back from the throat.

The life cycle's pretty well done but if I needed to crit something, it would be about the "eggs". You see, eggs usually have the shell to protect the fetus and to hold it all together. A plot of slime would also dry very fast.

All in all, it looks like a pretty nice species but some things seem like they haven't been tought out as well as they could've been.

I know the description says it outdated but still, that's one hell of a cool creature design

Would it be okay if my shape shifting species turned into an eekul temporarily? I'll give you credit for the eekul species of course and i'll send you a link of the pic when it's posted. As long as it's okay with you. [link]

Hmm well ... are you planning to draw only one picture of your species turned into an Eekul? Because that would be okay. But I'd rather you don't do it several times or making a recurring thing.

Also, I read the part of the description where it says they need a sample of DNA to shift into a species. It would be impossible for them to get Eekul DNA since Eekuls live on another planet (unless they can travel around in space ... what do I know). So essentially, I simply don't think your species would be able to shift into Eekuls. I don't know if you care, just thought I'd say it.

They do travel around in space and I wasn't going to make it a reoccurring thing. Just one picture.

Heh alright, in that case it's going to make sense.
You have my permission to do one picture.

Would you be possibly interested in submitting the Eekul and/or many of your creations to Alien-Crossing? It would be awesome to have it as part of the group. Although, I do have one stipulation, which you may or may not find reasonable. We have an official template, and would ask that you fill it out. It would be easy, considering the amount of information you have here, and you may choose to omit any parts of the template you like. Feel free to visit the group!
