Wanted to try a different dragon style, for some reason it turned out to look like something from Skyrim.

I couldn't think of a title for the life of me. I tried ... I tried indeed.

Of course, reality ensures, and he gets cooked inside his metal armor by dragon fire when he charges the dragon head-on on horseback.

Moral of the story: If you want to kill a dragon, do it SMART, or don't do it at all.

Otherwise, very nicely done.

Reality ensures that there are no dragons at all.

But pretending they do exist, yes; this slightly unintelligent knight would be toast.

And thank you, dear sir.

And all the better for it - I don't want to imagine what the world would be like where giant flying dragons actually exists.

You're welcomed.

"...If the dragon has a weakness for lavish tribute, bait it with treasure with curses and hexes which would render the beast harmless; If the dragon has a weakness for food, bait the beast with poisoned food and drink, all in bountiful supply; If the dragon has a weakness for maidens, have an actress soothe it into lowering its guard, so that she or others could slay it in its sleep...

...Dragon, powerful and wise as they may be, are greater victims of their own natures than even common Man. Where sword and shield and lances fail, cunning play with those draconic vices would surely bring down any beast..."

--- Kayad the Guile, a cunning master dragon slayer from the desert lands of Al-Arakai.

Through this ingenious yet rapid design, the artist has fully captured the bravery and exertions of the timid dragon, facing off against the ferocious horseman. Through this perspective we can see that to the dragon; that knight is RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHH, ROOOUUUUGH-HUUUE. Despite the dragon's impending DRAAAAAGGHHHH, he BRAAAAAOOOHly battles on to JROOOOOOOOOOOGGGHHHH the even more helpless castle filled with precious BRRRUUUUUUAAAAGHHHHH. The pleading in the poor reptilian's eyes are GHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOHH, which pierces even the heard-hearted of ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH. If we GOOOOOAAARRRRG <firebreath>JAAAAAAAAAAAARRRR ROOOOOOOH and URRRRRRRR AAAAAGHH to HISS AAAARRRRRRRRRRRGH ghGHROAAAAAAR. OAGGGGGGGHHHRR ISSSHSH AR BRAAAAGH RAAAFGH, RUUUUAAAAGH-AGH<firebreath><firebreath>.

*awesome comment on awesome picture* maybe not THAT an awesome comment, but still

Very cool :) Or rather hot, actually. The horse could use some more work though (you know you knew I would say that), but the dragon and overall impression (colours, composition, etc.) is fantastic. I also like that there aren't details all over the place, it you get what I mean, just where they're needed (eg. the dragon's head).
And it's great to see how much you've developed ^^ Ahh, I remember some old stuff, just fyi xD

Trying critique, eh? >XD

Well I got tired of it, and this wasn't one of those serious pieces I work on for days. I wanted to finish it in one day or it would just lay around bugging me forever (my poor excuse for not working more on the horse). And yes, I know what you mean with the details. Focusing only on details isn't my thing. In the end, it's the overall impression that counts.
Haha oh the old stuff ... I'm just gonna erase all that from your memory ok?

Ooohhh awesome! After seeing this I instantly wanted to go play skyrim XD But thats mostly just because you mentioned it, and then it reminded me of the very first battle you have with a dragon on that mountaintop by the ruined outpost. I loove those clouds and colours, and the way that knight is just riding in (he must have some amazing horse to be willing to go anywher near that big beastie). Really really nice, you're inspiring me to give this sort of painting a try. I love how you do yours.

Crit wise, I don't really have anything to say, except maybe a bit of texture on the building? The amount of detail on its fine, but it does look sort of shiny smooth in places, particularily the main tower. A bit of texture might really help to remove its smooth shinyness.

Sometimes you just NEED to play Skyrim. It has a tendency to do that to you. Isn't the first dragon battle on the fields outside Whiterun though, by that watchtower? Well, not very important anyway.
He does indeed have an amazing horse. LOOK AT MY HORSE MY HORSE IS AMAAAZING *cough*
Ridiculously dramatic paintings are always fun. You should try it!

Yes, that is true. I could definitely have worked more with the texture but the truth is, sadly, that I got too lazy. Happens too often ...

lmao, after seeing your work and comment I've now spent the last three days playing Skyrim XD
Yes yes it is, but in my mind a single little watchtower is OBVIOUSLY the same as a huge castle thing :paranoid:

Eee I want to! I shall once I get all my trades out of the way.

Hmm you couldn't just stick a texture onto it? Its a pretty lazy fasst way to get texture. I would know >_>;

I've tried to stop myself from playing it the last few days, but now you say THIS ... I'm gonna have to play some today XD
Well, it's like a small castle thing, it's almost the same.

Yaaay! If you like you can show it to me when you've done it. I would indeed like to see it C8

Oh I could, but I don't like doing that. Feels like cheating. I want to hand paint my textures, even though it, uh ... looks like shit and I never do it anyway.

Oh yes, you have no idea how many times I've died because I ran over a cliff or something while trying to chase a butterfly >_> I think I'm playing Skyrim wrong XD

Eee I'm happy you'd like to see it. I'll see what I can do!

Even if you made your own textures? I know what you mean by cheating, I'm just too lazy to draw my own, but prefer stuff with texture XD I never used to use them for that reason, but now I do.

I jump off cliffs on purpose because I'm too lazy to find the correct way down XD I always think "yeahhh I can probably jump off this cliff without dying" but then OOPS IT WAS HIGHER THAN EXPECTED. My most common way of dying in Skyrim.

C:

Well I've occasionally used brushes to make textures, but SAI isn't very good with custom brushes ... photoshop is better in that case. Too bad I love SAI for its option to rotate the canvas. I can't stand using photoshop because it has nothing like that XD

lmao YES. Why go around a mountain when you can go straight up and over? I keept trying to find little ledges to jump my way down onto, but I usually miss and die >_> I feel like a terrible person when that happens to my horse though.

Ah yeah I know exactly what you mean there. I've started trying to use them both for some of my works, because I LOVE SAI, but photoshop has some pretty nifty brushes that I like using for landscapes.

Haha happens all the time. I think I've killed like five horses that way. One wasn't my fault though. It was running away from battle and then decided to commit suicide by speeding down a steep slope |: Good job horse.

I like SAI because it's easier to paint in, it's ... smoother. I think that's the best way I can describe it. But I always use photoshop for adjustments, editing, effects etc. It's way superior when it comes to that stuff.

Oh Skyrim, how I love thee. With your flying horses and your dragon skeletons popping up out of nowhere and your silly AI that allows me to shoot arrows undetected at people when they're actually standing right in front of me ...
Enemy: *takes arrow in face* ANYONE THERE? *searching for 3 seconds* Hm, must've been my imagination.

Damn you're right, the horse too XD I hardly noticed that myself. SKYRIM WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?

Haha yeah, so much awesomeness in that game :3 But actually, those weird little bugs (they're not called 'bugs' in English, are they? Meh, you know what I mean) just makes it that much more fun ^_^

But the Skyrim-horses are cute, so it's no prolem C:

They are. You can say 'glitches' as well. I honestly don't know if there's any big difference between 'bugs' and 'glitches' ...
And true. As long as they don't ruin your gameplay, they're hilarious XD But when they do, you hate them.

They are indeed. Horses are often ugly in video games, but in Skyrim they look good.
